Reinforcements have arrived. The stellar, Jack Nicklaus-designed course on the shores of Lake Michigan is now getting a big hand from new General Manager Aaron Williams, whose addition lets Ross Smith focus his duties as Director of Golf.

Sports named Williams General Manager after nearly 20 years of experience in both the golf course management and hotel industries. He joined Kemper Sports in 2010 as General Manager at Springs Golf Resort in San Antonio, Texas, and most recently served as the transition manager at Stonebridge Golf Club in New Orleans, La.

“Aaron is going to be a great asset to Harbor Shores, especially as we open the new clubhouse and food and beverage operation next year,” said Steve Skinner, CEO of Kemper Sports in a release. “His experience in the hospitality and golf industries will allow him to make an immediate impact and prepare the staff for the 2012 Senior PGA Championship presented by KitchenAid.”

Wiliams said he’s happy for the opportunity and happy to belong to the Benton Harbor community, which is showing him true Midwestern hospitality. “I am very excited to be a part of the Harbor Shores family,” Williams said. “The community has welcomed me with open arms, and I look forward to working together with everyone. There are many positive things happening in the community, and I plan on being involved and helping anywhere I can.”

Williams began his career in the hotel industry with Hyatt Hotels after graduating from UCLA with a Bachelor of Science degree in economics. He went on to become the food and beverage director at El Conquistador Resort in Puerto Rico and then began his career in golf course management as the general manager of Shipyard Golf Club in Hilton Head, S.C. Williams has a lot to work, a simply spectacular golf experience and development.
